BECAUSE … CARDIO SUCKS!

The story about miracles of loosing muscles over a decent cardio workout still goes on.

Cardiovascular training can be defined as training that improves the efficiency of the aerobic energy producing pathways, and which can improve cardio respiratory endurance (Wilmore and Costill, 1999).

Among the people who hate cardio are mostly the guys in late teens and early twenties who has the fancy dream of getting a six pack abs with a bulging bicep and a chest. All they dream is about fitting into a slim fit t-shirt. Can you achieve this without a proper cardio routine?

One day I asked a guy at a local gym to join me in a 5.3km (round male’) jog, I could not succeed with him he simply had his own theory of becoming a chop stick after the jog.

I have spoken to many recreational exercisers in the gym to find the reason why they hate to do a cardio routine; most of them say that they don’t want to loose muscles, who say doing few cardio routines will eat away all your muscles?

Well it becomes worse … even a lot of competitive bodybuilders believe doing few cardio sessions a week will spoil there off-season training regime.

Cardio training will not eat away your muscles; in fact it will help you build up your heart health. Most of all to remain lean and to show definition in your body, cardio training is a must if you want those defined and ripped chests, biceps or the six pack abdominal.

From what I found after talking to these athletes the answer simply was … Cardio Sucks!

But I will say cardio RULES… as it can give you the ripped and defined body you’ve always wanted.

Yes! Cardio rules!

And I can attest to this fact. For me cardio is an addictive activity that is hard to get into the habit of doing. But once you are in it's hard to let go of it also.

As for muscle loss: Over the months of cardio-only training that I've done I can fairly say that I've lost nothing but fat and only a little muscle mass because I did neglect building them up.

5.3km around Male' is meta!

being an outdoors guy, i'd agree that cardio rules. in male, nothing beats the feeling i get after a 3km swim or a walk round hulhumale. hey zinan you should look up the everest marathon, i think you, hussein and kaleem should try to do it in 2008!
